Fletcher E. Sharp
Mid 1959 to September, 1963 was a CAP cadet, attaining the rank of C/Capt. and was awarded the Certificate of Proficiency (COP) which was the highest cadet achievement at the time.
October, 1963 – October, 2002 U. S. Air Force, including time in SEA. Combination of active duty and Air Guard duty. Crew Chief on C-130 Hercules, as an APG (Air Plane General) mechanic, then crew chief on F-101, B-57B/C, and T-33A aircraft. Left active duty in late 1967, and between 1967 – 2002 belonged to various Air National Guard outfits, as a crew chief, retiring with 22 years of military service.
October, 1968 – October, 1970 Attended Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in West Mifflin, PA to obtain my A&P licenses, along with an Associate degree in Aerospace Technology. While attending PIA for my A&P, also joined the Pennsylvania Air National Guard as a Flight Engineer on C-121G Constellation aircraft.
January, 1971 – March, 2006 A&P line mechanic & Pratt & Whitney Senior Field Service Rep (FSR) working in the U. S., Brazil, United Kingdom/Europe and Texas.
In March, 1974 awarded a Commercial SEL pilots license.
Active member of the American Legion Post 321 in Plano, having been a Post officer for the past 4 years, currently serving as the Judge Advocate.
Half owner of a C-172M based at the Grand Prarie airport, TX.
April, 2006 to present Hired by the Pinnacle Air Network as their Aircraft Turbine Engine Program Manager.
Joined CAP as a senior member on April 17, 2002 and have served most of my time in PMCS (Plano Mustangs Composite Squadron) as the squadron commander. I’m the Group II Ass’t Aircraft Maintenance Officer.
